25 Oct Verdés has been present at Clemson Brick Forum 2016
As every year, the National Brick Research Center (Clemson SC) brought the majority of North America’s ceramics companies together at its Annual Congress (3-5 October, Anderson SC, USA).
The Clemson Brick Forum is a meeting point for a wide range of people. Operators and heads of Maintenance and Production, as well as Managers, meet to share experiences and opinions. This is a meeting for professionals, although it really focuses more on networking that on work. The exhibition spaces are very informal and are nothing like those of a conventional trade fair, although the most important part is the presentations.
These presentations or “topics” are mostly presentations with no commercial content, as the ceramics companies themselves present their experiences on how they resolved a particular problem, how they are operating their quarries, etc. Nevertheless, one of the issues that has become increasingly important is the environment and how to work within emissions limits that until a few years ago Americans did not consider to be very important. Other interesting topics were product diversification, automation and raw materials.
